During my short visit on Oahu, I managed to sneak in a couple venture days. I can definitely say that I made the most of my stay, which was only about 5 days. I didn’t even bother telling some people that I was stopping in for a little bit since I’ll be back at the end of the month.

After a solid breakfast at Sweet E’s Cafe off of Kapahulu, a couple of us set out to find this treehouse we’ve been seeing all over the social media. Coming to find out it was near my favorite area to hike in and I didn’t even know it.
From the parking area to the tree house, it took us about 15ish minutes to get there. The structure itself is a little bit questionable, swaying with the strong winds, and my friend nearly lost his footing as one of the boards came up, when he stepped on it. Thankfully he was okay, but we did lose a couple of slippers, which were easily retrieved after our veg out mode in the tree.
We didn’t get as much as time up there because there were some rain showers coming in fast. As you can see from the pictures, the view is definitely one of those dime a dozen. Going during the week definitely had its advantages since it’s quickly becoming a hotspot. Nothing like an overrun adventure spot.
Once the rain finally arrived we made our way back to the parking area where we saw the perfect spot to set up some hammocks. Trees that are just perfectly aligned, pretty neat how they were planted that way. That area became the ultimate veg spot because once those hammocks were up, it would have been so easy to take a little snooze. I think I need to invest in a hammock ASAP.
I’ve been so grateful for the friends that I’ve made on Oahu especially the ones that are venture seekers like myself. I’m usually on ocean adventures with these two, but they were nice enough to switch things up because I couldn’t be in direct sunlight or in the ocean for a couple of weeks (new tattoo and all; here).
Now that me and A know where we’re off to next on our crazy life adventure, we have a much better idea of when we’ll officially be off the island. Things are definitely settling in a lot more and I’ll have to do another round of farewells not long after A returns from deployment. It’s a bittersweet moment, but I know in my heart that I’ll return to the islands again.
Hope you enjoyed my little adventure post on this beautiful Happy Aloha Friday !
Note: as you can tell, I’m being a bit vague about the location because I don’t intend to reveal it all. I rarely ask for locations of certain spots because I find it to be more of a satisfying adventure when you do your own research. Google is your best friend, I definitely encourage everyone to use it when you’re figuring out your next adventure.

So beautiful. I really wish we were back in Hawaii! Such a wonderful place!
@militarywifeandpuglife:disqus hey, maybe you’ll be back in no time and then I’ll have to live vicariously through you!
Love!! Such a cool place!!
@jewelswandering:disqus a little sketch, but it’s such a nice spot!
I’ve always wanted a treehouse so badly!!
So amazing! I’ve joined a bunch of hiking facebook pages recently, so I that I can figure out everything we need to do before we leave. The girls are spending a month with my parents, which will make it so much easier to venture out!
@AlejandraFR:disqus definitely can’t wait to hear all about it! It’s crazy how quickly time goes, for us it’s looking like we’ll officially be off the island around June.
Cool shot with the ironwoods and hammocks!
@natashahoover:disqus that’s all my friends shot, but it’s a sweet spot out there!
Such awesome photos! Glad you were able to go during the week.
@echandwill:disqus my friends got that photographer skills haha, I’m jealous of her talent haha
This is SUCH a beautiful spot! We got exactly 0 photos like this when we were there (such a bummer) so I will live through you 🙂
@disqus_H6vtkshvdT:disqus it really is, we were so bummed to not have more time up in the treehouse, but putting the hammocks up was a favorite! And it was super windy that day, so it was rocking us to sleep haha
Also, LOVE that you do not give away details — that is one of the best parts of exploring Hawaii…discovering it on your own!
@disqus_H6vtkshvdT:disqus like I don’t mind sharing with some people that I’m friends with, if they need extra details. But I love the whole discovering part, it’s almost a pet peeve when I get 20 questions about locations … haha
I’m going to have to find that! I’m sure I’d never be able to get my little guy our of the hammocks. It looks like it is on the other side of the island…:) Thanks for sharing Malia!
