It’s been a heck of a long time since I’ve written anything for my blog. But if you haven’t seen from my Instagram since I’m on there the most. We have returned from living abroad this past summer. Naturally, it was an extremely stressful move/PCS, but as military life goes, when is it not stressful?
After coming back, we moved straight to Connecticut for a span of 6 months. Yep, you read that correctly, 2 moves in a year and only months apart. It constantly felt like we were on the go and just the thought of not being settled for several months, it was something I wasn’t looking forward to at all. But I enjoyed my time there more than I thought I would, plus we got to reconnect with a lot of friends we haven’t seen in years.
And then the holidays rolled around and it was time to pack up and make our way south to Georgia, our home for the next couple of years. We bought our first home, stressful at the end, but such a huge relief to finally have our first home together.
We’ve been here for a little over 2 months and we have quickly jumped into sea duty life. Yep, we’re currently going through a deployment. We went from having the dream shore duty of living abroad and just having A home every single day. His new job keeps him extremely busy, but we knew what we were getting into before we moved.
It’s been an adjustment all around and today I realized even more that I’m still adjusting. Meeting people here hasn’t exactly been easy and being a part of a small community, you never really know what you’re going to get. I’ll admit after a lot of effort, I’m a little shy to keep trying. Pity party for one, it’s tough making new friends and that’s been a struggle.
There’s just a lot of new things that we’re facing and it has been an interesting experience overall. I’m sure I’ll find my footing once I get some sort of routine with motherhood and solo parenting. Or maybe this is just all my new normal.
Whatever happens, hopefully it brings me to write more on the blog.
So what’s new with you?
