OK! I’m excited to start my new series on the blog since I’ve recently been trying to get into the habit of organizing and editing my pictures from previous trips. The last couple of weeks have been dedicated to going through the tons of picture folders that I’ve just dumped into my computer and organizing them. My whole routine with pictures would be to upload them to my computer, delete them off my camera and that’s it. Never really touch them except maybe a couple I’ll share to Instagram. I have so many pictures to share from various trips that I’ll even be sharing our cross-country road trip from 2016.
Back in June, I bought a ticket to attend a romance reader book signing event. If you didn’t know, I’m a huge romance book fan and have another blog dedicated to all of that. Being in Hawai’i, it was extremely rare for romance authors to head out that way and hold book events. While living in Virginia, I was able to attend my first one in Annapolis and I got to meet one of my favorite YA (young adult) & PNR (paranormal) authors! And since IĀ knew that we’d be moving to Europe not that long after, there were a few events being scheduled in the next couple of years. And that’s how Berlin happened.
I was a little over 18 weeks pregnant at the time, so the event completely wiped me out. I even skipped out on a few authors because I was so tired near the end of it. I managed to see the authors that I wanted and to me, that was a success. And ah, when I could still fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans!
We turned this into a little trip and were there for about 5 days, so we got to see the sights. We opted to take a bus to Berlin, which was too long for me, but it’s definitely one of the cheaper ways to travel around Europe. Even though I’m not a huge fan of flying, I still prefer to do that or make it a road trip and fly.Ā A prefers the bus.
Well here’s the beginning of my new series, hope you’ll enjoy these pictures and the many more to come!
I had no idea you were into romance books!
That sushi looks amazing.
@militarywifeandpuglife:disqus Ooooooh girl, that is all I read! And the sushi was bomb … even though mine was all veggies. I can’t wait to eat sushi again!
Your photos are gorgeous, Malia!!! I love this series and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journeys. š Also, I’d love to check out your book blog (I’m a big reader but lately I’ve felt in a rut and need good recommendations)!
Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m such a fan of your scrapbooking by the way, it makes eager to do something similar. But I’m notorious for starting projects and never really following through it. I’ll just live through yours š
I’m still updating my book blog since the past couple of weeks has been the most I’ve spent on in the past year. But if romance books are your think, I have plenty to share. I may just message you since I don’t have organized on my blog yet with my favorites.

Berlin is such a cool city, I need to go back when the weather is warmer because when I went it was ridiculously cold. Brrrr! Gorgeous photos!! So thrilled you’re having the opportunity to travel around Europe!!
It really is, we enjoyed our time there a lot! I don’t think we’ll make it back again because we’re not trying not to visit places twice. But it was the perfect temperature when we went, which was a bit surprising since it was the middle of summer.
Awesome photos! I think this is a great idea for a series. I have so many photos I want to share, I might just dump them onto my blog. So glad to hear you’re loving life in Europe!
Thank you so much, I wish I had the motivation to start this earlier. But yes, please do share those photos, I would love to see them! Hope you’re doing well in Hawai’i land!
Great photos! I went to Berlin when I was maybe 8 and it has stuck with me all these years.
You have a book blog?! Why did I never realize that? Really cool photos of Berlin. I haven’t been to Germany since I was 18 months old so I obviously don’t remember anything about it!
I saw your comment about looking forward to eating sushi again. I am not even that into lunch meats, but I totally had my husband make me a giant turkey sandwich like the day after we got home from the hospital!
@natashahoover:disqus I do, I don’t mention it much on this blog though. It’s solely romance cause that’s all I read, if that’s your cup of tea, I’ll be happy to share the link. If not, no worries at all, I totally get that not everyone likes romance novels. lol I’m not into lunch meats either, but I will say that I may have had a sandwich or 2 during this pregnancy. There’s not amazing sushi options here, but that’s a couple OK ones at least.
